DEC 2011 – PRESENT
When MTV approached us to build their online presence for the 2012 election, we were elated. For us, the project represented a convergence of passions: building engaging websites for clients we love, and using technology to help inform voters. Not to mention a tremendous honor from a client like MTV.
The real challenge was to create a buzz-worthy tool that would make it fun and rewarding for young voters to be part of the engine of democracy, while encouraging their friends and family to get involved and take control of their future.
We designed the Power of 12 website to speak to college-aged users and provide a comprehensive set of articles, videos, games and other tools to learn about the issues and candidates. To help promote voter registration, we worked with partner Rock the Vote to make online registration quick and easy. Unique interactive infographics from GOOD helped to demystify confusing topics like immigration and taxes. Users could upload photos and text to create their own personal "Power Pic" to share their most important political priorities with their friends and the world. We even created the Daily Challenge quiz which integrated elements from MTV's Fantasy Election game to help drive Power of 12 users to become participants in the game.
The historic 2012 election season is now behind us, but you can view screenshots of the Power of 12 website in action below.
